HivemindOS Mobile — Privacy Policy
The short version: HivemindOS Mobile has no accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics. The developer does not operate any server that receives your data. Your conversations and files stay on your device, on machines you own, or with AI providers you explicitly configure with your own API keys.
What the developer collects
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services, and it never sends your content, identifiers, or usage data to the developer. Apple may share aggregate, opt-in statistics (such as install counts) with the developer through App Store Connect; that data is collected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Where your data lives
- On your device. Chats, settings, attachments, downloaded on-device AI models, generated images you save, and the app's workspace folder are stored locally in the app's sandbox. The workspace folder is visible in the iOS Files app so you can inspect or remove it. Provider API keys you add are stored only on your device.
- On your own machines. If you pair the app with a self-hosted HivemindOS server, messages, commands, and files travel directly between your phone and your machines over your own local network or your own WireGuard-encrypted private network (tailnet). The developer never receives, relays, or can access this traffic.
- With AI providers you choose. If you configure a cloud AI model with your own API key, your chat content is sent directly to that provider (for example Anthropic or OpenRouter) and is governed by that provider's privacy policy. No cloud provider is contacted unless you set one up.
- Model downloads. On-device AI models are downloaded from public model repositories (such as Hugging Face). These are ordinary file downloads; no chat content is included.
Permissions the app may request
- Camera — to scan a pairing QR code, or to take a photo you choose to attach to a chat.
- Photo library — to attach images you select to a chat.
- Microphone — for voice calls with your AI agents. Audio is streamed to the call session you initiated and is not recorded by the developer.
- Local network — to discover HivemindOS machines on your Wi-Fi so you can connect without typing an address.
- Notifications — delivered through the Apple Push Notification service. Your device's push token is registered only with your own paired server, not with the developer.
All permissions are optional and requested only when you use the related feature.
Data sharing and selling
The developer does not sell, share, or monetize your data — and cannot, because the developer never holds it.
Security
Connections to your own machines run over your local network or a WireGuard-encrypted private network that you control. Data at rest stays inside the iOS app sandbox under iOS data protection.
Deleting your data
Delete individual chats in the app, remove the workspace folder via the Files app, or uninstall the app to remove everything stored on the device. Data on your own server belongs to you and is managed there.
Children
The app is not directed at children. AI models can produce unfiltered output, and the app is rated accordingly on the App Store.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the date above revised.
